As the name speaks for itself, this restaurant is one of its kind in the heartiest and most overwhelming way possible. A restaurant which gives an opportunity to the people with speech and hearing impairments. This is a place full of happiness and smiles and invites you to dine with them with all their heart and amazing food. Located on the top floor of the Palladium mall in Lower Parel, Ishara offers amazing food along with an amazing view of the mall. The best time to visit the restaurant is after the sun has set to enjoy the amazing light show in the mall straight from the restaurant window! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very calm and quiet and has a positive energy to it.
The most extraordinary feature of this place is that you can only communicate with the staff in sign language. Although it might seem like a daunting task at first, it is not. The menu cards in the restaurant ensure that you are able to seamlessly communicate with the staff, and that your culinary experience is smooth. Once seated, the manager along with a staff member will approach you, and explain the working of the restaurant to you.
Moving on towards the food and the experience. We ordered the “Gunpowder Baby Potatoes” and the “Exotic Farm House Veggie Pizza”. The size of the potatoes is deceptively small, but once you eat them, it causes an explosion of taste and flavour in your palette with a strong sour flavour. The potatoes are roasted in tandoor drizzled pure ghee given the potatoes a great flavour. A plate of potatoes contains around 12 potatoes and costs INR 380, which is definitely worth the cost.
The base of the exotic farm pizza had a crispy base and used fresh vegetables. The only thing which felt slightly out of place at first glance would be the broccoli topping on a pizza. However, the broccoli complemented the rest of the pizza really well and was amazing. The perfect combination of cheese and fresh and crispy vegetables makes it a perfect dinner option. The price tag of INR 300 for a 10-inch pie is definitely more than you could ask for.
Despite the restaurant having amazing ambience, the place was in need of some minor cleaning. There were food crumbs under the chairs and on the table. Some sofas had food stains on them while others looked like they could use some cosmetic repairs. However, if you can look past these small things, this is a place I would definitely recommend for a nice meal and great people!
